Marilyn Kriete's debut memoir, Paradise Road, relates the early years of her colorful life. She has lived in 4 continents and 16 cities (so far). She has three more memoirs in the works, and currently lives in Kelowna, BC, Canada.

This episode was just… I know I say it all. the. time. but my guests are amazing. Each of these episodes is just fantastic. Marilyn is absolutely no exception. It’s been brought up so many times, and I’ll never not bring it up. You absolutely have to allow yourself to process your emotions as they come. It hurts and is difficult, but the deeper, farther you push your emotions down, the bigger and bigger they will get until you will be forced to deal with them later.

It’s not until you heal the core grief that you will be able to heal yourself. It doesn’t just have to be grief. It isn’t until you heal the core emotion, the core issue, the core problem, that you will find true healing. None of this surface level crap. I’m talking about the deep, hard, painful things. It sucks to deal with those. But until you do, you won’t ever be truly healed.

And we’re all broken. Everyone needs healing. So you are never, ever alone.
